This footmuff is pricey, but it's worth it. It keeps baby so warm that he doesn't even need a coat on very cold days -- just a hat and scarf will do. The top portion can hook over the back of the stroller or flip over and cover the baby's head, which allows you to moderate baby's temperature nicely in changing conditions. Also, it's pretty rain-resistant. It can certainly hold up to messy 'wintry mixes', and we've even been caught outside during regular old downpours... the footmuff gets soaked, but the baby stays dry and warm.
